Congratulations to Chris Young. Gettin You Home (the black dress song) officially became Chris's first #1 hit Monday Oct. 12, 2009. All of Chris's fans and family are so proud of him. For me, this has been one awesome roller coaster ride since Nashville Star where I voted for him every week and joined his fan club in December of that year. I first met Chris in person at Cowboy Up in Bluefield WV in Feb. 2007. Of course I did the normal picture, autograph thing while there but the part of the evening that made this most special for me was after the show. He came back in wearing a baseball cap and very incognito until I saw him. As he walked away from the owner of the club, I yelled hey Chris. He came over and took the time to talk to us and give me and a friend a hug and my son a handshake before leaving to climb on his bus and head to North Carolina. Of course his voice and music had made me a fan, but the fact that he cared enough about a fan to take that extra few minutes stole my heart.
I am so proud of Chris and so happy to have been a part of Young Country for the past three years. Chris, once again, Congratulations. You have worked so hard for this and you so deserve it.
